Dental Cleanings &Preventative Care
Radiographs
We take dental radiographs at regular intervals to ensure that we stay ahead of any potential problems like cavities, loss of supporting bone around the teeth, diseases of the bone, or tooth infections. Rest assured, we follow the standard of care, meaning we don’t take more than are necessary, but do make sure to get the right images in quantity and quality to guarantee we have a comprehensive view of your dental health.
Regular Checkups and Cleanings
The all-important 6-month cleaning appointment. We recommend our patients come in twice a year for a checkup and professional cleaning. Seeing you at this regular interval ensures our hygienists can attend to the areas your toothbrush doesn’t reach and that we catch any problems early on.
Deep Cleanings
Over time, systemic problems like diabetes, inadequate home care, and other factors can cause the gums to become very inflamed. If this inflammation is bad enough it can cause gums to recede, and for the supporting bone around the teeth to recede as well. In this case, it is necessary to do an even more thorough cleaning, called a deep cleaning. This ensures that the deep-seated bacteria, plaque, and tartar are removed, thus reducing the inflammation. After this type of cleaning, we will have patients back at more frequent intervals to ensure this process does not progress.
